Do You See What I See?

I'm struck with an idea...
Results are a prime motivator for anything in life. Success, or the perceivable lack thereof, is defined by the results. I try not to delve too far into the black hole of purist ideals, but I think, for anybody creative, it has to start with the love of the art, the love of the process. The results can't just be about money (which is always great by the way lol), otherwise, you won't be able to sustain your drive. Mulling over my own art, seeing what others create, it all goes back to the idea, the desire to see a certain vision come to life. It applies to everything from the profound to the ridiculous, or any combination in-between. I'm talking about the motivation to see a particular vision come to life. It's this motivation, I think, that has to be the driving force of our creativity, not monetary results, the perception of success, etc. There is no greater feeling than seeing the creative process through, than seeing the tangible, finished product and then remembering the beginning, when you were just musing on an idea, of what it could be, what you wanted to be. How many ideas have we not pursued, acted on? How many ideas have been sitting in our minds for years? How many ideas have hit us recently? From writing, to music, to visual art, whatever, there is no greater satisfaction than acting on a vision and seeing it through to completion. It's time to bring it life. Don't be satisfied with the vision resting comfortably in your mind/heart. It's time to do the work (this is not a bad word). Don't stop until you see it through. And then, start all over again.
